Program Objectives
Students will:
● Apply public health competencies in real‑world clinical and community environments.

● Participate in supervised fieldwork, data collection, health education, and program evaluation.
● Engage in structured reflection and professional development sessions.
● Experience Tanzania’s cultural, historical, and ecological diversity through curated excursions.
Program Locations
● Dar es Salaam – Primary internship placement, cultural immersion, national institutions
● Arusha – Safari, environmental health learning, cultural village visit
● Zanzibar – Marine ecology, cultural heritage, tropical disease context
Program Structure
1. Practicum/Internship Placement
Students are placed in:
● Hospitals and clinics
● Maternal & child health programs
● HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria initiatives
● NGOs focused on nutrition, community health, and community development
● Public health research and outreach programs
Each placement includes:
● A designated site supervisor
● Weekly check‑ins
● A structured practicum plan
● Final evaluation and certificate
2. Accommodation
Impact Trails Tanzania Tours provides:
● Secure hotels, guesthouse, or student residence (homestay can be requested)
● Shared rooms if placed on campus or hostel
